Choyon's Log : today is July 13th.A bright summer eve, all the windows open, warm breeze flowing through.In Vannes at our home son Mattis-Joti and I were watching Star Trek : Next Generation : Where No One Has Gone Before.The alien traveller who is speed personified told Captain Picard about his fascination for Mozart.Bengali girl Samadipta Mukherjee from Kolkata has the same fascination for the immortal maestro who was burried in an unmarked pauper's grave.

Growing up in a Bengali family, music happened for Mukherjee by default.Her music aficionado father exposed her to Hindustani classical music, ghazals, Najrulgeeti, and old Bengali and Hindi film songs at home.

Carmen Yanez, Luis Sepulveda in the 70s

Chilean poet Carmen Yáñez, writer Luis Sepúlveda's wife, wrote an emotional poem on her husbands passing away on 16 april, 2020.It was published in the Spanish regional newspaper El Comercio, from Asturias.They were married twice, first time in Chile in 1971 and second time in Gijón, Spain, in 2004.In between, they didn't see each other for 20 years.

আজকে বংগবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের জন্ম শত বার্ষিকী।যেভাবে উদযাপনের কথা ছিলো, তার অনেক টুকু কাট ছাট করতে হয়েছে করোনাভাইরাস প্যান্ডেমিকের কারনে।বংগবন্ধুর জীবনে আকস্মিক যবনিকা ঘটায় 'বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর কিছু বিপথগামী সদস্য'।সেভাবেই আমাদের ভাবতে, লিখতে এবং বলতে বলা হয়েছে।তার সাথে আমরা জানি দুই যুগ ধরে প্রত্যক্ষ, পরোক্ষ সেনাশাসনের সময় বংগবন্ধু হত্যাকান্ডের বিচারের পথ বন্ধ করে দেয়া হয়েছিলো।১৯৭৫ এ সেনা কর্তারা যেভাবে পারস্পরিক হত্যাযজ্ঞে মেতে উঠেছিলো, তার বিপরিতে ২০২০ সালে একই সেনাবাহিনী কি লাখো গুণ বেশী সুবিধা পাওয়া অবস্থায় করোনা কবলিত দেশবাসীর স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষায় অংশ গ্রহনে আন্তরিক?

The five cities meshed up here are Dhaka, Lagos, Manila, Mexico City, Tehran!Wish these places are as borderless as imagined.Seeing the heavily spent, school-exercise standard curating such massive compilations of magnified magazine pages one might gets overwhelmed but does that mean the show warms one's heart?Is it because India has the nuke that Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata don't fall in the same messy, staggering and creative category as the curated ones?Or is it because of China becoming a super power they excluded  Chinese megacities as something clinically immune to political snobbery?
