American Rock Band Singing Akira Kurosawa

''...the strength of the Kurosawa images is stunning. The editing of the video really enhances the rhtyhm of the tune.'' One of the first comment in last nights official Youtube release of Ben Miller Bands latest track Akira Kurosawa from their new album 'Choke Cherry Tree,' available Jan 26.

  
The Ben Miller Band was formed in 2005 in Joplin, Missouri.The Band combines elements of folk, blues, bluegrass, and country into their music. Originally, their sound had been self-described by the band as "Ozark Stomp" but in reference to their label, is now referred to as "Mudstomp"

Charlie Hebdo Stands Where Daily Californian Cowers

Anti Israel, anti Islamist cartoons keep attracting the usual sorts of arguements which would otherwise be used to oppress freedom of expressions.

Karim Doumar, senior editorial staff of the University of California’s student newspaper issued an apology for publishing a cartoon by Joel Mayorga last week criticising Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz.The paper eventually withdrew the cartoon evidently under presssure from the UC Berkeley Chancellor.

Lorca, Resurrected With A Poor Translation

Federico Garcia Lorca was an emblematic member of the Generation of '27, a group consisting of mostly poets who introduced the tenets of European movements, such as symbolism, futurism, and surrealism into Spanish literature.Lorca was executed at 38 by Nationalist forces at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War.His body has never been found.

Pussy Riot Protest at Trump Tower



On Monday,23rd October three members of the Russian activist group and punk rock band Pussy Riot staged a demonstration in Trump Tower to support the political prisoner Oleg Sentsov.
